Homemade Dreamcatcher, Wolfade, & Crests

Well everyone in preparation of our New Moon party, we've decided to make dream catchers as one of the Jake favors, and as you can see, I have successfully done one :) I am pretty proud of it myself!! The Boys (Andrew & Mike) picked out the green beads, and I think it came out fantastic! We're going over Barb's to see Abby since we didnt see her on Friday and I am so excited to show Barbara how it looks, along with all of my ideas! Courtney may stop by so she can get an idea of how the house is set up! ONE MONTH TILL THE PARTY! I sent out Hillary & Jess's invites today as well, and everyone else should have theirs today (with the exception of Mike Turmelle who goes to college near Boston).

Wolfade, the wolf version of gatorade! LOL! I was looking at the crude table set up drawing I've made and realized we were without a drink on the Jake table, so I thought up "Wolfade", gatorade in all actuality. Don't know which flavor yet though...maybe blue? I like the blue one!

Andrew is going to woodburn the Cullen Crest! I am so excited! The Jake one was just so fantastic that I begged him to do the crest too! :)

Recipes Needed for Party

This is more to remind myself, but you guys can use these recipes too :)

Red Velvet Cake Recipe (for birthday cake possibly)

Ingredients

* Vegetable oil for the pans
* 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 1/2 cups sugar
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon fine salt
* 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
* 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
* 1 cup buttermilk, at room temperature
* 2 large eggs, at room temperature
* 2 tablespoons red food coloring (1 ounce)
* 1 teaspoon white distilled vinegar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* Cream Cheese Frosting, recipe follows
* Crushed pecans, for garnish

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly oil and flour 3 (9 by 1 1/2-inch round) cake pans.

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. In another large bowl, whisk together the oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vinegar, and vanilla.

Using a standing mixer, mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined and a smooth batter is formed.

Divide the cake batter evenly among the prepared cake pans. Place the pans in the oven evenly spaced apart. Bake, rotating the pans halfway through the cooking, until the cake pulls away from the side of the pans, and a toothpick inserted in the center of the cakes comes out clean, about 30 minutes.

Remove the cakes from the oven and run a knife around the edges to loosen them from the sides of the pans. One at a time, invert the cakes onto a plate and then re-invert them onto a cooling rack, rounded-sides up. Let cool completely.

Frost the cake. Place 1 layer, rounded-side down, in the middle of a rotating cake stand. Using a palette knife or offset spatula spread some of the cream cheese frosting over the top of the cake. (Spread enough frosting to make a 1/4 to 1/2-inch layer.) Carefully set another layer on top, rounded-side down, and repeat. Top with the remaining layer and cover the entire cake with the remaining frosting. Sprinkle the top with the pecans.
Cream Cheese Frosting:

1 pound cream cheese, softened

4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar

2 sticks unsalted butter (1 cup), softened

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a standing mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or with a hand-held electric mixer in a large bowl, mix the cream cheese, sugar, and butter on low speed until incorporated. Increase the speed to high, and mix until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. (Occasionally turn the mixer off, and scrape the down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula.)

Reduce the speed of the mixer to low. Add the vanilla, raise the speed to high and mix briefly until fluffy (scrape down the bowl occasionally). Store in the refrigerator until somewhat stiff, before using. May be stored in the refrigerator for 3 days.

Yield: enough to frost a 3 layer (9-inch) cake

Chocolate Covered Red Velvet Cake Balls

Red Velvet Cake

* 1 cup vegetable shortening
* 2 eggs
* 1 1/2 cups sugar
* 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
* 2 – 3 ounces red food coloring (Depending on how red you want it to look)
* 2 1/2 cups cake flour
* 1 teaspoon kosher salt
* 1 cup buttermilk
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon vinegar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.In the bowl of a mixer, cream together the shortening, eggs and sugar. In a separate small bowl, mix together the cocoa and food coloring. Add the paste to the shortening mixture. Sift the flour and salt together over parchment. Add to the batter alternately with the buttermilk in 3 additions. Add the vanilla extract. Fold in the baking soda and vinegar. Pour the batter into 2 greased 9-inch cake pans. Bake for 30 minutes or until an inserted cake tester comes out clean. Let cool on a cooling rack. Invert the cakes from the pans.

Cream Cheese Frosting

* 2 cups powdered sugar
* 8 oz. cream cheese, at room temperature
* 1/2 cups heavy cream

Sift powdered sugar in medium-sized mixing bowl to break up any lumps. Add the cream cheese and mix until smooth. Mix in the cream until well blended.

Cake Ball Directions

1 1/2 lbs. Chocolate of your choosing.

After the cake has cooled completely (I toss mine in the fridge), crumble into a large bowl, mixing with the cream cheese. Use your hands. There’s no good way to do it otherwise. Yes. It is messy. Get over it. Let mixture chill in the fridge for a few hours to guarantee it will keep the ball shape. Roll out mixture into quarter size balls and lay on wax paper covered cookie sheet. Toss into the freezer for an hour or so to set.

Melt chocolate in microwave per directions on package. It’s safest to do it 20-30 seconds at a time and mix between each heating to make sure it’s melting properly.

Roll balls in chocolate and lay on wax paper until firm. (Use a spoon or forx to dip and roll the balls in chocolate, tapping off the extra.)

Makes between 50-60 balls.

Woodburning, Hot Topic & Partayyyy

I am so pleased. I am just so excited about this! My husband has made this AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME wood burn of Jacob & a Wolf. I found the images and traced them on, but he wood burned it and it is SOOOO awesome! I asked him to make it for our party, and he happily did and it looks so awesome!

Sunday, Courtney met us at the Mall and I havent seen her in 2 years! She is my co party planner now :) We had an awesome time, and the two guys working at Hot Topic were awfully flirty to us! (shhh don't tell anyone! ;) ) But we got New Moon shirts, hers of course was Jacob, and I got one with all the Cullens on it, AWESOME!!! :D :D :D We got a lot of party ideas and its coming along!

Speaking of our PARTAYYY the invites went out today! I am SOOOOO excited! Sue printed them double sided and they are just kickass looking, wonder when everyone will get 'em? Tomorrow or Thursday probably? I dunno! It is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 6-9 at Scott & Barb's house, they're letting us have it there, THANK GOD!! :) I am just BEYOND excited, you have no idea.

I've had it.

You know it must be nice to have a husband that supports, understands, and encourages you. Instead I get crap on a 24 hour basis and i don't understand why. What the FUCK did I do to deserve this? Is this gods way of punishing me for eternity? My relationship sucks, plain & simple, all he does is beat me down, and I'm about to loose it. Antidepressants only go so far, until you feel like the only fucking way out is to kill yourself because you're too cowardly to stand up and say "I'm leaving". It's emotional & mental abuse and I take it. My mom made me promise her that I would leave if I ever was in a controlling relationship, sorry mom. And it's not even like I can leave, where would I even go? I wish he would leave me alone. All he does is beat on me. Someone save me from my life.

Party, Friends & $300

Well Andrew & I would really like to throw our New Moon Premiere & Birthday Bash, so I'm attempting to plan it & get all the details together. I've asked my step mother in law if we could have it at her house & she said she still needed to talk to my father in law. It would be awesome to have it at their house, more space, less expensive AND it could inside & out and we could have a bonne fire! That fits in well to the Jacob part of the party. I have soooo many ideas and I really wanna have it! I've planned a few contests, one for girls exclusively (design your own tshirt contest) and one for guys (Cullen car scavenger hunt) and a new moon quote trivia contest :) I'm also trying to figure put food & such, it's a lot to put together. I know it's kindof childish but w/e I'm not even 20, I get to celebrate turning 20 :)

Courtney & I have decided that we are going to go to the mall and surrounding stores on Sunday to go New Moon shopping & hang out :) I'm really excited, I haven't been able to hang out with my friends in a long time. Andrews gonna hang out with Mike then too I guess :) Courtney & I will be checking out iparty for party ideas as well, can't wait for Sunday!!

So every price quote I've gotten is $300 plus food!! Unbelieveable! Although the sales manager at the Hilton told me that a fair homewood suites price would be around $150, which isn't awful but I'd rather not pay that much. So hopefully the sales man. from there will give me a call back :) but ultimately, Barb & Scotts would be better :)

Am I an embarassment?

I'd seriously like to know why some people are so fucking stuck up. Is it that I am an embarassment? What's so bad about me? Why do some people feel the fucking need to delete things I say? Am I that dumb? Obnoxious? Ugly? Unimportant? Annoying? I try my hardest to be nice to people and give others attention, even if it's just a "Hows your mom doing? I haven't seen her in so so long!" what exactly is wrong by this sentiment?? WHAT? Are you too fucking cool to just have a god damn comment from me left on their damn facebook status?

Apparently I'm the dog shit you accidently step in. Isn't that nice. And this isn't the first damn time it's happened. Whyis what I'd like to know... WHY am I unimportant or an embarassment?

I seriously feel like bawling my eyes out, and couldn't concentrate on my studying.

30 Seconds to Mars, Love & Friends

I've really come to LOVE 30 Seconds to Mars music. I love Jared Leto, what an amazing song. I reallllllly like "The Kill", so good, LOVE IT!! My little sister even likes them and shes 10... lol. She likes Jared :) But who doesnt, seriously?

Love, what is it anyways? Man, Andrew & I have been fighting lately. Part of which being my fault, and I feel bad for it. We're getting past it like always, but if one time we dont? :(

Friends, ah yes friends. Well, its been a week since a very close friend of mine and I last spoke. He told me to "shut the fuck up" and I havent heard anything since. He is actually my husbands friend of 15 years as well. Until I hear an apology I dont plan on seeing him. I am good friends with his girlfriend (which actually they met through Andrew & I) and its hard having the strain on mine & his friendship while being friends with her. But, whatever I guess. He had better not be hurting her... I will never forgive him, shes too good for that.

Fair, Screaming & Cold

Yesterday we went to the Deerfield Fair and Lilly just LOVED it! :) I loved the cows especially, they are just so darling, I really want a farm at some point in my life for all sorts of little animals :) I Love baby cows the most, they are so amazing. And actually, I saw a mother cow deliver a calf once, it was the most AMAZING thing I've ever seen. I cannot wait to deliver humans! Lilly loved all the lights and sounds and smells of the fair and had a blast, but damn was it cold!! Andrew was freezing, but I was comfortable. I got the prettiest necklace to, Ill have to take a picture and post it.

All Lilly has done since I put her down for a nap is scream while I do my studying, math specifically which needs my 100% focus because I am so crappy at it! I absolutely HAVE to get good scores on my NLN... I NEED to go to Nursing School next Fall, I absolutely HAVE TO!!!!!!!! I will get there, I just need to absolutely study my ass off.

My has it been cold here lately. Our bedroom got down to 63 I think last night and we were all a bit chilly. I never ever sleep with my jammy pants on, but I did last night & glad I did. BRRRRR... its only about 55 right now and I have a shorts sleeve shirt one with my jammy pants and I am cold. I am going to make myself some coffee soon, I am freezing.
