Lillys 15 month wellness appointment was on Tuesday, and the doctor says she looks GREAT! Shes happy & healthy and right on track (a little skinny still, but w/e.) She is 22.4 lbs and 32 inches tall! She had three shots and really didnt like the MMR shot (which burns they say).
Andrew got sent home from work yesterday for being sick. So was home by 8:30 am, leaving me no time to do anything I usually do in the mornings! I was going to work on our website (paranormal investigation!), put my NLN PAX exam study guide on hold, and blog! :) We ended up fighting most of the day, like we usually do. Lilly was really high maintenance yesterday, and it made us both edgy.
Yesterday was my first physical therapy appointment for my prolapse. And going into it I thought "How the HELL do you do physical therapy on that specific part of your body?!" My therapists name is Cristin and shes very nice. We went over all of my symptoms and she explained how the prolapsed happen & stuff. She said judging by my reports of how my pregnancy went & such that Ive had pelvic weakness and even if I hadnt have delivered Lilly vaginally, the prolapse still might have happen! She said that because I had weakness already and that my labor was fast is what caused this. So thank you Lilly & your big fat head. Shes lucky I love her!! Apparently you should be able to hold a kegal for at least 10 seconds without it "fizzling" out... I could only do 4! Stupid pelvic muscles. She was very understanding, and I told her things that I have noticed that every other Dr was like "Um, I have no clue what youre talking about", but she understood. She said this is a very under researched field of study and shes right. Also, my episiotomy scar can be adding to my symptoms as well my my hips & back being out of alignment! She was rotating my left leg yesterday and noticed that it wasn't quite aligned. She was feeling my back and was pushing and sure enough, it hurt on the left side! So apparently after having children it can go out of alignment which can make pelvic issues much worse. She agreed with Dr Lilly in saying that the PT will not cure my prolapse, but it will make my recovery from surgery that much more successful! Shes not sure exactly how long I have to be going for in order to have the surgery. Next time shes doing an internal exam to see exactly which muscle walls are ripped and which specific movements can make them better. She was a ton of help and Ive already started my excercises, theyre easy, I did them lying in bed.
